Who is responsible for your data

Customers and visitors
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, your chosen username, your plan and when it started or ends. Your password is stored only as a one-way scrambled value (a salted hash); we cannot see it.
- Payment details: handled by Stripe. We receive your name, email and payment status, never your full card number.
- What you do in the tools: buy boxes, searches, targets and reports you create, so we can deliver them and keep your pipeline.
- Messages: emails you send us.
- Technical data: IP address and request logs held by our hosting providers for security, including limiting repeated failed sign-ins.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To provide the service you pay for and manage your account: performance of a contract.
- To keep records of payments: legal obligation.
- To keep the service secure and improve it: legitimate interests.
We do not sell your data and we do not use advertising cookies.
Browser storage
We store a sign-in token and your display preference (light or dark) in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in across the suite. These are strictly necessary for the service. Signing out removes the sign-in token.
People named in company data
Our tools analyse information from public registers, mainly Companies House: company details and the names, month and year of birth, appointments and correspondence addresses of directors and people with significant control.
- Why: to help buyers and advisers identify businesses that may be available for acquisition and assess them.
- Legal basis: legitimate interests. The data is already public for the purpose of transparency about who runs UK companies, we use only what is needed, and we do not add private contact details.
- Your rights: if you are a director and want to object to our processing or ask what we hold about you, email info@huntersuite.tech.
Who we share data with
We use these service providers, each bound by their own data protection terms:
- Cloudflare (hosting, databases, security)
- Netlify (website hosting)
- Stripe (payments)
- Anthropic (AI processing for parts of the analysis and the Bowman assistant)
- Google Workspace (email)
- Companies House and other data providers (to fetch company information)
Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where data leaves the UK, it is protected by the UK's adequacy regulations or approved contract terms.
How long we keep it
- Account data: while your account is active, then 12 months after it closes.
- Payment records: 6 years, as required for tax.
- Sign-in sessions: up to 30 days, or until you sign out.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict how we use it, or receive a copy in a portable format. Email info@huntersuite.tech; we reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We will update this page if our use of data changes, and show the date at the top.
